Terms of Service

Your account

You're responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your Google sign-in secure. You must be at least 13 years old to use Watch Party.

Content you upload or share

You keep ownership of movies and other content you add to Watch Party. By uploading a movie, you confirm you own it or have the right to store and, if you choose Discoverable visibility, share it with other Watch Party users.

Watch Party does not store movie files on its own servers — files you upload are stored in your own connected Google Drive. Watch Party stores only a reference to the file (its Drive file ID and basic metadata) needed to play it back.

Movie visibility

• Private — only you can access the movie.
• Invite Only — only people you explicitly invite can access it.
• Discoverable — the movie can appear in Discover for other Watch Party users. Only choose this for content you have the right or permission to share.

You can change a movie's visibility at any time from your Library.

Copyright

Watch Party is a tool for watching movies you already own or otherwise have the right to watch together with others — it is not a source of copyrighted content, and making a movie Discoverable is not permission to distribute something you don't have rights to. We respond to valid copyright complaints, which may result in content removal and, for repeat infringement, account termination. See Community Guidelines.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Upload or share content you don't have the rights to
• Use Watch Party to distribute illegal content
• Harass, abuse, or impersonate others
• Attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the service

Reports and takedowns

Any Discoverable movie can be reported (for copyright, illegal content, spam, misleading content, inappropriate content, or other reasons). We review reports and may remove content or restrict accounts as a result. Reports are handled by us — reporting a movie does not itself remove it.

Account termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, including for repeat copyright infringement. You can stop using Watch Party at any time.

Service availability

Watch Party is provided “as is.” Because movie playback depends on your connected Google Drive, availability of a specific movie also depends on that file remaining present and accessible in your Drive.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Watch Party and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, and the service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

Changes to these terms

We'll update the “Last updated” date above when these terms change, and aim to notify you in-app for material changes.
